A man has been arrested following a road rage attack in which a woman says he spat in her mouth as her 15-year-old daughter looked on.
Police are appealing for more information about the assault, at 8.20pm on Tuesday, December 1.
A woman in her 40s was driving her Ford S-Max on Molesey Road with her daughter when she was said to have been involved in a minor crash with a black Ford Mondeo which had attempted to overtake her.
She pulled to the side of the road where she was approached by the driver, a man in his 40s. She claimed he then shouted abuse at her before spitting in her mouth.
Police said that a man had been arrested and released on bail until Sunday, January 3.
PC Katie Hanlon, said: "This is potentially a vile verbal and physical assault which has caused the victim and her 15 year old daughter a great deal of emotional distress and I am seeking witnesses to assist me in the investigation into this matter.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Surrey Police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
