Trees fell onto cars in New Malden and Tolworth as Storm Imogen swept across the country.

The storm is causing destruction nationally with flooding, fallen trees and building damage.

A tree was ripped from the ground last night near Charrington Bowl in Tolworth, landing on a silver Audi.

Another tree almost completely covered a car in a drive in Thetford Road, New Malden.

Britain is being hit with 80mph winds and heavy rain, as the ninth major storm this winter moved in from the Channel.

The Met Office issued amber “be prepared” weather warnings for London.

A short power cut in parts of Surbiton was reported during the night before the full force of Storm Imogen began.
